Where to begin… This year has been eventful to say the least.
For the past few years, I have often been very excited about the annual GMMTV Showcase, but this year I just haven’t felt it as much as before.
There have been a few series that have been cancelled because of partnership “breakups”, a couple of recasting and a show that three popular partnerships were going to be a part of being cancelled.
However, some new shows for those couples are currently in development.
Minutes before the livestream even started, the dreaded blue-bordered notice appeared on GMMTV’s social media and it shocked me.
Ohm and Poon are no longer part of the project Cupid’s Ghost featuring EarthMix and will be replaced with Sing and Chimon, meaning their partnership has indeed ended. The other piece of news was that due to unforeseen circumstances, the production of the show Overdose has stopped.
I am such a mixed bag of emotions already and the livestream hasn’t even begun.
After the series Match Point, I have been looking forward to seeing if Sing and Chimon would continue with their partnership and it looks like they are. As much as I liked Ohm and Poon, I am very excited to see Sing and Chimon together again.
Last year it was announced that there was a game in development including all the mascots we know and love. But apparently, they restarted the whole process to make the game better than before. Ever since the iconic 30th floor was permanently closed to the public, GMMTV opened the café GMM House where the shop is now located and they have included it in the game!
The mascot news didn’t end there…
I have quite a collection of figures that I got from blind boxes, but I admit that I have never had the desire to collect Lulu the Pig, but I might now. GMMTV are collaborating with TOYZERO the company behind the Lulu the Pig blind boxes and it looks like she might be getting a few new outfits in the form of our favourite mascots.
My bank account isn’t going to be thanking me this year because in December we will be able to preorder some Trading cards featuring the mascots, ready for a ship date in April next year.
There is also going to be a fan fest with the mascots called World of Wonders in March and a fun run event called GMMTV Character Happy Runderland event in November.
I am a huge musical theatre nerd, having seen over 50 of them but I have never actually seen Dear Evan Hansen on stage, only the movie. The fact that we have William playing the main role gives me hope as he is one of the best performers at GMMTV.
While watching the trailers, I was writing down my feelings and opinions.

A Season To Remember
So handsome! :O My heart can’t handle this. Not just one, not two but three of some of the best partnerships. I will watch anything with Khaotung in it and when First is also there, it is just an added bonus. These three couples recently had a concert that was popular, their chemistry is off the charts and I can’t wait to watch it.
Love After Class
We were told the other day that Almond and Progress would have another lead series together so I can’t say I was shocked but I can say that I am very happy. We know they can act and the fact that it is another school series gives me hope. New ship consisting of Keaton and Thor has also got me excited, and I am so happy he is getting another series and with a great partner in Thor.
Beyond You
The first of the GL trailers and View and Mim are back! I enjoyed their arc in Girls Rules and the fact that Jan is also in this is exciting, and I just cannot wait for it. I am absolutely loving the GLs that have been release in Thailand recently and I just hope that I will enjoy this one too.
Sea and Keen! Stamp and Aun! My fave LYKN boy Tui is also in this! I get the vibe that this series is going to wreck us emotionally and that was before Sea’s character collapsed. I am definitely getting a packet of face tissues for this one.
The Spooky Love Tale
I like the start of this already and it took me a while to realise what this was. Mark and Ohm are taking over the main roles after Santa and Perth dropped out of this series. Mark and Ohm are the couple I didn’t know I needed and I am so glad it happened. Mark is one of the best performers in GMMTV and I absolutely love the chemistry between him and Ohm. Not to mention that I am excited to see Chimon and Sing acting together once again.
Above Her Class
Now this looks so so good! Another GL couple that I will be watching and to see Dunk in this makes me so happy. I will follow that man in everything he does. I haven’t watched a series about flight attendants and I am really excited for this to be the first one.
Shooting Stars
So many favourites in this. I love the fact that I knew it was Gemini because of the back of his head!
Pit Stop
As soon as I saw the bike, I just knew who was going to be in this. After speculating for so long it is finally official that Ohm and Ing are indeed acting together. Also Podd and Papang are also in this. Yay!
Love Echoes
Another new trailer for a series that was recast earlier this year. After June exited the series, we were told straight away who was going to take over for her. I am still really excited for the story as I was the first time around.
Saran Wants You!
Not really a surprise that Off and Gun have another series again as they are one of the main pillars at GMMTV. Their chemistry never misses and the fact that Lego is in this makes me very happy.
Shrimply Mine
Kinn and Barcode are back! I was holding my breath when I saw Kinn and let it out when Barcode appeared. Another new partnership that gives the chills (In a good way). I absolutely love the name of this one!
Kiss Me, Stranger
Yet another GL that looks awesome! This is the first trailer that I was silent when watching as I was transported into their world. The whole vibe of this series looks so good. I can tell by this trailer that Pahn and Fond are going to become a fan favourite. I am definitely adding this to my list.
Billionaire Biker
Okay…I was not expecting that. I have to admit that I am so shocked that they are still going through with this series. I am happy for Franc and Save but I am just in shock.
Pineapple Leaf Blade
A story inspired by the true stories of Thai Migrant Workers this is interesting. The fact that we are getting Tay and New in a more serious role will be amazing and I am sure that they will do us proud as they always do.
Our Melodies
When Stang appeared I was waiting to see if we were right and we… correct! When I heard the rumours about him being paired with Tytan I was sceptical as I am not one to believe until I see the evidence and I must say I am excited to see them as a pair. But now it is well and truly true; I can finally say how happy I am with this. Joong also appearing in this is another highlight for me.
Cherish
I do love a good mystery and this one looks really good. Milk and Love will no doubt deliver brilliant performances. I can’t wait to see other people’s theories about the plotline.
Cinematch
One of my favourite series this year was Match Point and it introduced the new partnership Ping and Teshow, and they quickly became a favourite of mine. Their chemistry is one of the best I’ve seen from a new ship and I am so happy that they are acting together again.
High & Low: Born to be High
I am usually not one for a lot of action but I am really excited for this, mainly because of some of the actors featured in this trailer. We were told about this last year and I had never heard of it before. By the time this is shot and starting to air, I am going to try and do my research and see if I will watch this.
Pie and the 7 Witches
Fourth with blonde hair… I liked that trailer a lot. So many different storylines and I am all for it. Any series with a magic element has my interest, and this one is one that I am looking forward to. Not just because of the concept but also for some of the cast.
The Gentlemen’s Blood
Surf and Java. Ashton and Chokun. I am happy to see them all in a serious drama. Was surprised to see Mac with someone new, but we were informed that Mac was not going to be with Tham a few days before, but I didn’t think he would be paired with anyone else. That being said, with most of this cast being so young, I like to see what kind of chemistry they have with different people.
My Beautiful Enemy
Another pairing I was eagerly waiting for. After their previous series, I have become such a huge fan of Jan and Jingjing. As a fan of the classic enemies-to-lovers trope, I can’t wait to see this. I am very excited for this.
Your Eyes, My Ears.
I like this concept. One can see ghosts and one can see ghosts, I love the fact that they both make a whole person and that makes me excited. Ever since Singto came back to GMMTV, it has been great to see him and Krist back together. I loved The Ex-Morning, I can’t wait for Write You Again and now I can’t wait for this. As I have said many times, AJ and JJ are one of my favourites and I know I’m not the only one who is really happy to see the twins featured in this. But I am still waiting for their main role one day…
Jigsoul
A series about a reality series isn’t a concept that I have seen before. Win was one of the actors that introduced me to the BL world and I have been a fan of his since. Usually that means I will be watching, but I’m not sure on this one. I sort of liked the trailer and I can see the potential.
Lost in Your Eyes
I had to leave the room before this and I came running back when I heard my favourite gal. I have been waiting for Namtan to appear and I am extremely happy that the trailer for her next venture and it is finally here. I know I am a bit biased but this one is near the top of my to-watch list. I did like the action vibe of this trailer and I know that I am contradicting myself with what I said earlier, but this is the type of action I like.
Stalemate
Not going to lie but I totally forgot about this partnership. When these two were announced last year, I saw that loads of people were really excited and I was definitely one of them. I like a dark, gritty but fun love story, and I just know these two will be great!
Blueprint
I have a very complicated relationship with Basketball. I don’t like to play it as I have PTSD from when a girl tried to get the ball off me and scratched my eye 😦 But I love watching it (Mainly because of Joss). I quite liked Mr Kill and Dew and Tee were good in it; hopefully this will be good.
Be Mine
Hong’s song! Love this already. Emi and Bonnie are so cute together and there is just something about a fake-dating series that gets to me. Cize and Kapook are also a GL partnership that I like a lot. A different couple for each season…seems interesting. I hope that the series is going to be split between all the couples equally, like they did with 10 Perfect Liners.
Fake Boss, Real Boyfriend
Aou is so adorable! It is also official…Aou is still part of the BL scene and has a new partner. As a loyal fan of Jasp.er, I will support my boys anyway I can. Another trailer where I can see the vision but we will have to wait and see what happens.
Our Lyrics
Man loses his phone, man gains a friend…that was what I got from the trailer but I’m intrigued. But Tui is in this, so I might give it a watch. Never mind, I am definitely watching this. I do see the chemistry between Anthony and Krit, which means I can’t wait to see this in the future.
Safety Flirt
Prim in the GL world? Sign me up. I don’t know why I am so excited for this because it reminds me of my own work! I like the comedic style of the trailer, especially the end scene.
I Want To Hold Your Hand
NUT AND HONG! This trailer is one of my favourites so far and I am extremely happy to see this kind of representation. As someone from the UK, hearing The Beatles music used in other countries is a blessing and the fact that this is going to be written by p’Jo makes me even more excited!
52 Hz
As soon as I saw Jackie, I just knew I was going to be so excited about this. Jackie and Nanon have been on people’s radar for a while, and I know a lot of people will be looking forward to this pairing. I like a good rivalry series and I can’t wait to see this friendship grow on screen.
Boys 4 Moms
Omg! So many reasons I love this trailer, and for me, all these actors make me very happy to watch this series. Another series with four different stories all coming together as one. Each story has my interest and I’m sure that I might love it.
Itaewon Class- Thai Edition
Love the hairstyle Film has in this trailer. I have heard of Itaewon Class but I don’t really know anything about it. I will be watching the original to see if it appeals to me, so I might change my mind about this.
The Halo
The last and definitely feels like the longest trailer of the showcase. I love that we are getting BL with these couples in them. As soon as you see some of the actors, you immediately wonder if you will see their partners and when it is a cast of some of the biggest ships, you really hope the series will definitely be watched. It will be watched by me.
I know I said that I wasn’t expecting to be as excited about this showcase as I have been for the last couple, but honestly, I think I might be just as excited!
